FEATURES OF CERTIFICATION FOOD STANDARDS ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF "HALAL"

Abstract

Purpose. The particularities of the requirements of "Halal" standard and the terms of certification are observed in this article.


 


Methodology. The methodological base of research includes such methods as analysis (during the study of the researched problem); forecasting (to formulate conclusions and recommendations).


 


Results. It was established that food, certified in accordance with the requirements of "Halal" standard, is relatively new for the Ukrainian product market. This type of certification is mostly used by Ukrainian manufacturers of products such as meat, dairy products, bakery products, which are exported to Arab and Asian countries. The use of certification and labelling the products with the sign of compliance with standard "Halal" meets the requirements of the European standards “Codex Alimentarius”. In Ukraine, such quality assessment is carried out only by the Center of Research and Certification Halal "Alraid". The center collaborates with more than 50 Ukrainian enterprises and producers, assisting them in adjusting the production processes and helping them to find exporters. The use of this type of certification will increase the amount of export of Ukrainian goods, as well as will improve their quality. All products, which have passed the appropriate certification, are labeled with a special sign. Labelling is universal and widely understood in all parts of the world.


 


Practical value. The article summarizes the information about the stages of "halal" certification of Ukrainian enterprises, identifies potential risks and the prospects for widespread use of such certification of the Ukrainian products.
