ESTIMATION OF CONSUMER PROPERTIES OF PORCELAIN PRODUCTS OF DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN PRODUCTION

Abstract

Purpose. Comparison of consumer properties of porcelain products which are produced in Ukraine and in other countries and are transferred across the Ukrainian border.


 


Methodology. The main indicators of consumer properties of porcelain products were determined by the following methods: organoleptic, expert, method of sociological research. The methodology is set out in the relevant standards and sections of the article.


 


Results. Analysis of the results of the expert evaluation showed that properties such as the decoration and the accuracy of work of the cup produced on Korosten porcelain factory are much higher than of the cup of foreign production (the company "Robert Bosch", Germany). The evaluated products received almost the same results on such properties as the size of the product, glaze glitter, stability on a horizontal surface, the breaking strength. As for such properties as the shape, thickness of porcelain, whiteness, the resistance of decorative coating, the cup of Korosten porcelain factory showed much worse results than the cup of the company "Robert Bosch" (Germany).


 


The comprehensive index of quality of the Cup manufactured on Korosten porcelain factory (Ukraine) is 21.89 points, whereas the comprehensive index of quality of the cup manufactured on "Robert Bosch" factory (Germany) is 25.16 points. Therefore, the quality of the cup produced by "Robert Bosch" (Germany) is higher than the quality of the cup produced on Korosten porcelain factory (Ukraine).


 


Practical value. Considering the obtained results, we can give practical advice to the Ukrainian porcelain factory in order to improve the quality and competitiveness of Ukrainian porcelain production. The main pieces of advice are to improve whiteness and the form of porcelain products, to reduce the thickness of porcelain and to increase the resistance of the decorative coating.
