ECONOMIC COMPONENTS OF ECOLOGIZATION OF HOSPITALITY INSTITUTIONS IN THE REGION

Abstract

Purpose. Identifying the main trends in the development of eco-hotels in the region, substantiating the expediency of greening existing hospitality establishments.


Method. Scientific periodicals, Internet resources and works of domestic authors are the  basis of the work.


The results. As a result of the study, the main environmental requirements for hospitality establishments were analyzed and the key trends in the development of modern eco-hotels were given.


Scientific novelty. The article presents important tools for greening accommodation facilities, which include sorting garbage, minimizing the use of paper, reducing food waste, using alternative energy sources, etc. The main features of the eco-hotel are characterized: only non-toxic cleaning agents are used in the cleaning of the hotel premises and territory; only non-toxic detergents are used in the laundry; use of natural soap that does not contain chemical components; using soap without packaging to reduce waste; economical use of water; recirculation of used water for reuse; use of environmentally friendly means of transport for the transportation of vacationers; 100% natural cotton sheets, towels and mattresses; non-smoking environment; energy-saving lighting; there are renewable energy sources, solar panels or wind energy (where possible); use of natural products grown in local conditions; fresh air circulation system, refusal or minimization of the use


 


 


of air conditioners; collection and processing of secondary raw materials (paper, plastic, food waste) It has been proven that one direction of greening the tourism industry is the use of ecological building and finishing materials: preference should be given to wood, stone or brick, but not to concrete, it is not recommended to use asbestos, linoleum, chipboard and fiberboard (chipboard, fiberboard), zinc whites and paint solvents containing benzene and toluene.


Practical significance. The current trend in the economic activity of hospitality entities is greening, accordingly, eco-innovations play an important role. Greening of accommodation facilities is an effective factor in the development of tourism as a whole within the framework of the concept of sustainable development. In the market of hotel services of the region, there is a significant differentiation of hotels by type, many of which contain an ecological component, as potential consumers are interested in this direction of hotel business development. In recent years, in almost all developed countries, more and more hoteliers are leaning toward the practice of implementing the concept of an ecological hotel, which is a well-thought-out program of a comfortable, harmonious life with the surrounding natural environment.
